MOSCOW, Oct 20Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed to submit proposals for the creation of three megascience class scientific installations at the Rosatom National Center for Physics and Mathematics to obtain the first results by 2030, according to the Kremlin website.
“The Government of the Russian Federation, together with the State Corporation Rosatom, the Russian Academy of Sciences and the National Research Center Kurchatov Institute, should prepare and submit proposals regarding the creation at the National Center of Physics and Mathematics of the State Corporation Rosatom of three scientific installations of the “megascience” class in order to obtain the first scientific world-class results by 2030,” says the list of instructions.
Deadline for execution of the order — February 15, 2024, responsible — Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Rosatom General Director Alexey Likhachev, RAS President Gennady Krasnikov and director of the National Research Center «Kurchatov Institute» Marat Kambolov.
In addition, the Cabinet of Ministers was instructed to submit proposals for the allocation of additional funds from the budget in 2024-2026 for the construction of scientific and educational infrastructure facilities for the branch of Lomonosov Moscow State University in Sarov. The deadline is November 20, 2023. Also, the Cabinet of Ministers, with the participation of Rosatom, will additionally consider the issue of creating and developing at least seven new unique laboratories of the National Center for Physics and Mathematics of the Rosatom State Corporation, including at the expense of budget funds, Rosatom funds and other sources. The corresponding report must be submitted by December 15, 2023, then annually. In addition, Putin instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to make decisions on the implementation of the “Zemsky Teacher” program in the territories of the ZATO Sarov (Nizhny Novgorod region) and Snezhinsk (Chelyabinsk region). According to the list, the Cabinet of Ministers, together with Lomonosov Moscow State University and Rosatom State Corporation, has been instructed to determine the features of financial support for the scientific and educational activities of the university branch in Sarov and scholarships for students there. Also, the government of the Russian Federation, Rosatom and the government of the Nizhny Novgorod region will ensure the development, approval and implementation of a comprehensive program for the development of the social infrastructure of the closed city of Sarov, including the National Center for Physics and Mathematics of the Rosatom State Corporation.
