The materials of the criminal case regarding the preparation of an assassination attempt against propagandist Vladimir Solovyov against 43-year-old Vasily Strizhakov were received by the 2nd Western District Military Court in Moscow, Mediazona drew attention to this.
Strizhakov is accused of six Articles of the Criminal Code: about illegal sale of weapons, illegal manufacturing of weapons by an organized group, illegal acquisition of explosives, illegal production of explosive devices, as well as in preparation for murder and participation in the activities of a terrorist organization.
In April 2022, the Investigative Committee reported on the arrest of six members of the National Socialism/White Power group, who, according to the investigation, wanted to blow up Solovyov’s car.
After this, a court in Moscow sent two defendants in the case, Vasily Strizhakov and Alexander Druzhinin, to pre-trial detention. On April 27, the same court arrested three more: Andrei Pronsky, Vladimir Belyakov and Vladimir Stepanov, and on June 6, Timofey Mokiy. With the exception of Druzhinin, all of them have previous convictions, including for racist violence.
In a pre-trial detention center, Muscovite Strizhakov received a fine because of tattoos (Part 1 of Article 20.3 of the Administrative Code). The court ruling states that on January 25, prison staff found “uncovered tattoos” with swastikas on Strizhakov’s chest and hands, which he “openly demonstrated to other prisoners and employees of the institution.”
In the 2000s, Strizhakov hitregistered with the Ministry of Internal Affairs as a “skinhead”, in 2004 he was convicted of selling marijuana — the court sent him for compulsory treatment. In 2010, the court in the Kaluga region againsent him for compulsory treatment due to attempted murder: Strizhakov attacked with a knife girl in the entrance.
The charges against the ultra-rightists arrested in the case of the attempt on Solovyov’s life have been significantly expanded over the year: they are charged not only with preparing for the murder of a TV presenter, but also with several arson attacks on military registration and enlistment offices and cars with military symbols, as well as participation in the terrorist organization NS /WP. The investigation considers 30-year-old Andrei Pronsky to be the leader of the cell; he was charged under 11 criminal articles.
Short course NS/WP. What do we know about those detained for the assassination attempt on Solovyov — and about who burned the military registration and enlistment offices
