MOSCOW, Oct 19 Finnish rapper Käärijä began receiving threats after he threw the Ukrainian flag from the stage at a concert in Estonia, writes Iltalehti.
During the performance, one of the guests threw a Ukrainian flag onto the stage, which was immediately followed by artist's reaction.
“»No, no, no, who threw this here and why? We are in Estonia now. This is not cool! Why did you even do this?» — said Käärijä and threw the flag from the podium.
Later, a video from the concert hit social networks, causing a storm of indignation from Ukrainians. According to the performer, since then he has often received threats.
“I want to say that I love Ukraine! I respect them very much, and that’s the whole problem. Now they want me dead , and now I have to apologize to them, but why? They want to kill me, but I have to apologize? No, I can’t,” said the rapper.
Käärijä also added that he simply confused the flag of Ukraine with the state symbol of Sweden , to whose representative he lost first place at Eurovision 2023.
