RYAZAN, October 19 A criminal case of sabotage was opened against two residents of the Smolensk region after the arson of a relay cabinet, the press service of the FSB Directorate for the region reported.
As the press service of the Moscow Railway reported, on the night of October 17, on the Safonovo — Milokhovo section in the Smolensk region, a fire was recorded in a relay cabinet. As a result, six passenger trains traveled along the route with a delay of up to 10 minutes from schedule.
On Wednesday, the regional FSB department informed the detention of two 22-year-old natives of the Dukhovshchinsky district living in the regional center. According to the department, the young people set fire to the relay cabinet on instructions from an unidentified person from the messenger. They were promised a monetary reward for doing the work, which they did not receive. A case was initiated under Part 1 of Art. 267 of the Criminal Code of Russia (rendering unusable vehicles or means of communication).
«The investigative department of the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Smolensk region opened a criminal case under paragraph «a» of Part 2 of Article 281 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (sabotage — ed.) against two natives of the Dukhovshchinsky district… The suspects face imprisonment for a term of 12 to 20 years,” the message says.
