
MOSCOW, Oct. 24Doctors are recording positive dynamics in the condition of Sputnik Afghanistan journalist Khaibar Akifi, who was wounded in a Ukrainian drone strike in the Belgorod region, said Assistant Minister of Health of Russia Alexey Kuznetsov.
«His condition is assessed by doctors as serious, with positive dynamics. He continues to receive all necessary treatment,” said the agency’s interlocutor.
Khaibar Akifi, who has Russian citizenship, and his wife Olesya were seriously injured on the night of October 12 as a result of a Ukrainian drone falling on a house on the outskirts of Belgorod. Their four-year-old daughter Amina and the wife's parents died in the fire.
Khaibar received burns to 15 percent of his body, doctors diagnosed him with severe mine explosion trauma, broken ribs, pelvic damage and brain contusion. The man was transported for treatment to Moscow at the Vishnevsky National Medical Research Center for Surgery.
On October 19, Olesya was transferred from intensive care to the trauma department, she has to learn to walk again.
