The State Duma proposed banning the entry into Russia of cars with license plates of the Baltic countries

SIMFEROPOL, October 23 State Duma deputy from the Crimean region, Mikhail Sheremet, in response to the possible closure of the Baltic Sea for the Russian Federation, proposed banning the entry into Russia of cars with license plates of the Baltic countries — Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania.
Latvian President Edgars Rinkevics on Friday, October 20, announced that the Baltic Sea could be closed to all Russian ships if the investigation reveals Russian involvement in the damage to the Balticconnector gas pipeline.
«The Baltic countries, with their mosquito ultimatums and threats, cross all conceivable and unimaginable boundaries. These exploding provocateurs and notorious Russophobes in power need to be taught a lesson. I think that we should ban the entry of cars with license plates of the Baltic countries: Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania,» — Sheremet said. According to him, today the Baltic countries, having chosen an anti-Russian foreign policy course, are actually cutting off the branch on which they are sitting, since they are not aware of the economic problems and consequences that may overwhelm them.

The Kremlin previously categorically denied any involvement of Russia in the emergency situation at Balticconnector. Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the situation, said that Russia does not accept any threats, no matter who they come from, and invited Latvia to answer the question of whether the Baltic Sea will be closed to those responsible for the emergency on the Nord Stream.
