MOSCOW, October 27 Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer will play in the match of the ninth round of the German football championship against Darmstadt, Sky Sports reports.
According to the source, Bayern head coach Thomas Tuchel decided to return 37-year-old Neuer to goal after consulting with the player and goalkeeper coach Michael Rechner. Goalkeeper Sven Ulreich, who has started 12 games this season, will remain on the bench.
It was previously reported that Neuer received permission from the club's medical staff to participate in the team's upcoming matches.
Neuer has not played since December 2022, when he suffered a broken leg while skiing while on holiday. He played his last match in the Bundesliga on November 12.
Neuer has been playing for Bayern since 2011. As part of the Munich club, he became an 11-time German champion, won the national Cup five times and the Champions League twice.
