MOSCOW, October 27 The Moscow City Court sentenced scientist Anatoly Gubanov to 12 years in prison for treason, the court reported.
“The court imposed a sentence of 12 years of imprisonment in a maximum security colony,” the court said. The details of the case are not disclosed due to the “top secret” classification. He was arrested in December 2020.
Gubanov is a candidate of technical sciences, worked at the Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute (TsAGI) named after Professor N. E. Zhukovsky and the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT). He studied the operation of aviation equipment in supersonic and hypersonic modes, wrote over a hundred scientific papers on these topics in Russian and English, as follows from the information on the elibrary scientific electronic library website.
