Faridaily: mandatory quarantine for meetings with Putin has been reduced to five days; it has been in effect since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic

The quarantine before the meeting with Vladimir Putin, which was introduced at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, was reduced to five days, two people who attended events in the Kremlin in the last few weeks told the Faridaily project.

One of the publication’s interlocutors clarified that quarantine remains mandatory for those who are going to talk one-on-one with Putin or come close to him, for example, to shake hands.

“If a person does not come closer than 3-5 meters to Putin, then you don’t have to go into quarantine, just take tests,” explained Faridaily’s source.

As the publication notes , Putin is the only head of state in the world who obliges everyone with whom he comes into contact to quarantine. Since the spring of 2020, he has met only with those who have undergone two-week isolation under the supervision of FSO officers.

By the summer of 2023, quarantine for meetings with the president was reduced to one week. Peskov admitted that a special epidemiological safety regime continues to apply to Putin “on the urgent recommendations of specialists.”

According to official data, Putin has received at least four doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. In May of this year, the World Health Organization (WHO) announced the end of the state of emergency due to the coronavirus pandemic.
