The calculation of the killers does not fit with the version of extreme intoxication
Today in Volnovakha they are burying the large Kapkanets family, who were shot in cold blood in their own home on Sunday night. Nine graves in a row, two of them for children. The alleged killers were detained without delay. According to the DPR Investigative Committee, these are contract soldiers from the Far East. They were very drunk at the time of the crime. Everyone in the city is discussing what happened.
“It’s strange that none of those who were in the house woke up,” local resident Olga Petrenko told MK. – As far as I know, they didn’t close the doors at night, because there was no reason to be afraid: there were several adult men in the house, everyone in the area knew each other. They say that the strangers just snuck in, and the adults were drunk after the holiday, they didn’t even have time to clear the food from the tables, but the children definitely should have heard and woke up… A terrible tragedy.”
Despite the absence of video cameras on the streets, the criminals were detained quickly. They took tire tread prints near the house and found army markings on the shell casings. The DPR's social networks have identified two men who appear to be approximately 30 years old. Thin, tall, on a motorcycle and in military uniform. And soon the security forces found the alleged killers. They offered no resistance during the arrest.
According to the investigation, the criminals have already begun to confess. According to them, the conflict occurred near the store over alcohol. At night, having previously taken it to their chests, the killers, in an inadequate state, burst into the family’s house (they lived nearby), shooting at the sleeping people. They allegedly did not see the children in the dark; they only wanted to kill the adults.
Based on information from local chats, a more detailed version of what happened can be reproduced. The father of the family, Eduard Kapkanets, allegedly smoked near a local store that sells alcohol with one of his neighbors. At some point, already tipsy military personnel came into the establishment “for more.” The men made the remark that the soldiers had already had enough to drink. This was enough for them to boil over and after that very “additive” they decided to kill the whole family.
“There is a decree from the administration: do not sell alcoholic beverages to military personnel, and this is what the conflict was about,” writes DPR resident Tatyana in the Telegram channel “Volnovakha, Donskoe News.”
“What strength should alcohol be, what kind of additives it needs to be stuffed with so that the roof is blown away to such an extent that they decide to commit murder,” Oksana objects to her, “Whatever they add to alcohol in the villages, but all for the sake of profit — so that there is addiction and the drink is bought more often.”
“It’s not completely clear what happened and how, but it doesn’t look like a domestic conflict,” says Volnovakha resident Ivan. – If the killers had been heavily intoxicated, they would hardly have been able to work so professionally, and even at night. They were clearly preparing weapons and equipment, arrived there, made their way onto the site, climbed over the fence, and got into the house.
In addition, they seemed to know everything about this family: where they live, how many people are in the house, when they go to bed. That is, they did not act spontaneously, but very prudently, and had information. It looks like a very cynical and cold-blooded revenge for something.”
