MOSCOW, October 31 Three servicemen of the National Guard of Ukraine were sentenced to life imprisonment in the DPR for actions against civilians, according to the Telegram channel of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
“The evidence was recognized by the Supreme Court of the DPR as sufficient to convict the servicemen of the National Guard of Ukraine — assistant machine gunner Denis Zalevsky, shooter Evgeniy Kiris and assistant grenade launcher Bogdan Kashpruk. They were found guilty of cruelty to the civilian population, use of prohibited methods in an armed conflict, murder and attempted murder murder of two or more persons committed by an organized group motivated by political and ideological hatred. The court sentenced Zalewski, Kiris and Kashpruk to life imprisonment,» the statement said.
As specified, Zalevsky in March last year in Mariupol shot three civilians with a Kalashnikov machine gun, two of them died on the spot, and one was able to hide from the shots.
On another day, Zalewski, Kiris and Kashpruk, being in the same combat position, shot three civilian cars with civilians. Four men died on the spot, six managed to get out of the cars and hide in a safe place.
«Taking into account the position of the state prosecutor, the court sentenced Zalewski, Kiris, Kashpruk to life imprisonment with each sentence served in a special regime correctional colony,» — reported the prosecutor's office.
