KAZAN, November 1. Tatarstan became one of the winners in the rating of Russian regions in terms of the level of development of the gas motor fuel market, reports the press service of the head of the republic.
The results of the rating were announced on Wednesday at the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum, in which the head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov took part. One of the main presentation platforms for Tatarstan at the forum is the stand of the Raritek Holding company, where a presentation of new gas-powered agricultural and municipal equipment will take place.

Tatarstan occupies a leading position in Russia in the development of the gas motor fuel market. Over the past 10 years, the volume of sales of compressed natural gas in the republic has increased 16 times, the number of automobile gas filling compressor stations (CNG filling stations) has increased by 4.5 times, and the number of gas engine equipment has increased almost 26 times.
In total, 45 CNG filling stations operate in Tatarstan. Currently, over 13.5 thousand gas-powered vehicles are in operation in the republic. It is noted that all conditions have been created in the region for the introduction of methane as a gas engine fuel in the transport complex.
By the end of 2023, it is expected that at least 2 thousand more transport units in Tatarstan will be converted to use compressed natural gas. In addition, at least 500 units of various equipment will be purchased in gas-powered versions, including within the framework of incentive programs of the Republic of Tatarstan and Gazprom Gazomotornoye Toplivo LLC.
