MOSCOW, Nov 2. Kiev could purchase ammunition from a Swiss company in violation of Berne's ban on arms exports, Defense One reported, citing data from the trade aggregator Import Genius.
«»Two purchases of Swiss ammunition for Ukraine appear to violate the <…> ban on such supplies «, the publication says.
According to media reports, in July the Ukrainian company Ukrainian Armor received cartridges of 308 caliber (Winchester) and 338 caliber (Lapua Magnum), which were produced by SwissP Defense and delivered to the Ukrainian Armed Forces by a Polish importer.
Article 22a of the Swiss military property law prohibits the export of weapons to countries involved in war, violating human rights, or if there is a risk that they will be used against civilians. In addition, the restriction applies if there is a likelihood that weapons will end up in an “undesirable country.”
