MOSCOW, November 1. Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz said that Russian Roman Safiullin has been playing at an excellent level for the last few months.
On Tuesday, Alcaraz, the second racket of the world, lost to Safiullin in the second round match of the Masters tennis tournament in Paris with a score of 3:6, 4:6.
“He didn't surprise me at all because I knew he'd been playing at a great level for the last few months, beating the big guys, getting to the final. I knew he'd be playing at a high level. You know, I'm just bad felt on the court. There are a lot of things that need to be improved, a lot of things that need to be practiced,” Asap Sports quotes Alcaraz as saying.
Safiullin is the 45th racket in the world. In the third round of the Masters in Paris he will meet with compatriot Karen Khachanov.
