MOSCOW, Nov 4 Spanish police arrested a citizen on an international warrant Ukraine for drug smuggling, Europa Press reports, citing local police.
“National police have arrested a woman in Alicante who is subject to an international arrest warrant issued by the Moldovan authorities for drug trafficking,” the material clarified.
According to Europa Press , a 36-year-old Ukrainian citizen was involved in smuggling “large quantities” of drugs from Ukraine to Moldova for subsequent distribution through online stores created using an unnamed mobile instant messaging application.
“The woman was wanted for crimes committed in 2021 in Chisinau. The applicant country issued an international arrest warrant, which was brought to the attention of the <…> organized crime team brigade of the judicial police of the province of Alicante,” the agency reported.
Provincial police conducted searches to find out the whereabouts of the woman on suspicion that she chose the province of Alicante to “evade justice” in Moldova.
