In the city of Volgodonsk, Rostov region, a criminal case was opened against local blogger and journalist Yuri Kravtsov, known as Yurets Kravets, under the article of insulting the feelings of believers (Part 1 of Article 148 of the Criminal Code). This was reported by the SOVA analytical center.
The reason for the criminal prosecution was a video from a restaurant in which Kravtsov rises into the air, being tied to a human-sized cross.
As “Owl” writes with reference to media information, the establishment staged a performance in honor of Halloween, during which actors in white coats walked around a large wooden cross with knives in their hands. According to the blogger, he decided to “test the winch,” so he asked to be tied to the props and lifted into the air.
Currently there are no photos or videos from the event on Kravtsov’s page. Don Mash, who published the video with the Instagram blogger being lifted into the air, claims that the man deleted all related posts from the page and apologized. Then the restaurant hosting the event also apologized.
The blogger did not publish information about the initiation of a criminal case in his posts. At the same time, on the Instagram page there is a photo with a child dated October 27 with the caption “I hope there is not a year left to wait until the next meeting, as the song says,” as well as yesterday’s publication “It is quite possible that this is the last photo in the near future…”
The SOVA Center believes that the case against the blogger was brought unfairly. “Kravtsov did not act in a church, did not use objects intended for religious rites, and, obviously, did not set out to incite hatred towards believers,” the publication says.
