YUZHNO-SAKHALINSK, November 4. An earthquake of magnitude 3.8 occurred on Saturday on Sakhalin, the island branch of the Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences reported.
«An earthquake of magnitude 3.8 was recorded by seismologists on November 4 at 13.18 (5.48 Moscow time) in the south of Sakhalin. The epicenter was 20 kilometers northwest of Cape Krillon, the southernmost point of the island. The source of the tremors was located at a depth of 15 kilometers,» — said Elena Semenova, head of the Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk seismic station.
According to the agency’s interlocutor, an earthquake with a magnitude of 2 could be felt by residents of the village of Shebunino in the Nevelsk region.
