MOSCOW, 8 NovA criminal case of attempted murder of two people was opened against a man who attacked a woman and a teenager with a machete in Lyubertsy, Moscow Region, Olga Vradiy, senior assistant to the head of the regional headquarters of the Russian Investigative Committee, told reporters.
Earlier, a source in law enforcement agencies reported that a man with a machete was detained in Lyubertsy near Moscow: the defendant attacked law enforcement officers, they had to open fire. A video of the incident appeared on social networks, in which the man is first hit by a car on a zebra crossing. Later, the press service of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee for the region reported that shortly before the arrest, the man attacked a woman and a child.
According to the investigation, on the afternoon of November 8, a man, walking past the bailiffs building, attacked a 14-year-old teenager and a woman with a knife, inflicting cut wounds on both. Having seen what was happening, a bailiff and an employee of the department of execution of punishment neutralized and detained the man.
“A criminal case has been opened against a local resident born in 1987. He is suspected of attempted murder of two people (part 3 of article 30, paragraph “a, and”, part 2 of article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation),” said Vradiy .
She added that the woman and the teenager were taken to a medical facility and received assistance. The suspect is also in hospital.
In turn, the press service of the RF IC added that the Chairman of the RF IC, Alexander Bastrykin, instructed the head of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee for the Moscow Region, Alexander Starikov, to submit a report on the progress of the investigation of the criminal case, the results of which were put under control in the central office of the department.
