MOSCOW, November 8. Discussion of the national project “Data Economy” will be held in the government in the near future at a strategic session, it is planned to consider the content this state program, said the head of the Ministry of Digital Development of the Russian Federation, Maksut Shadayev, at a plenary meeting of the Finopolis forum.
In September, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the government to approve a national project for the formation of a data economy for the period until 2030 by July 1, 2024.
“Our president has given instructions to restart the national project from 2025, which we now call “Digital Economy”, even the name is different — it will be the national project “Data Economy”… We will soon consider it at the strategic session (of the government — ed.) the content of this state program,» Shadayev said.
He noted that it is planned to discuss the main activities, financing, as well as specific regulatory mechanisms. “We will be preparing to launch it in 2024,” the minister concluded.
The national project should provide for data collection, including the use of highly sensitive sensors based on quantum sensors, data transfer and development of new generation communication systems, creation of infrastructure for computing and data storage using domestic equipment, technologies and software, ensuring data security, including using quantum encryption technology.
Earlier, Shadayev said that by the end of November it is planned to hold a strategic session in the government to discuss the main priorities and parameters of the program, and by the middle of next year it will have to be approved. He noted that the program will include tasks related to the organization of infrastructure, video surveillance, smart transport, autonomous drones, as well as tasks related to quantum computing and others, and will have “both a practical nature and a serious breakthrough scientific priority «.
