The State Duma explained why the United States actually needs Russian assets

SIMFEROPOL, November 8. State Duma deputy from Sevastopol Dmitry Belik said that the United States has a selfish interest in Russian assets and there is no concern for Ukraine there.
Earlier, the Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives of the American Congress supported a bill that gives the US President the right to confiscate sovereign Russian assets, and the Secretary of State to transfer them to Ukraine and international organizations. According to the text of the document, the Secretary of State is given the authority to provide additional assistance to Ukraine using assets confiscated from the Central Bank of the Russian Federation or other Russian foreign assets.

“The American government has a selfish interest in Russian assets; there is not even a hint of concern for Ukraine there. There is clearly an attempt to correct its costs solely at the expense of Russian money,” Belik said.

According to him, US President Joe Biden and his minions are going to “get their paw” on Russian assets.
“The United States today resembles a bandit with a pistol, who so wants to profit at the expense of Russia, and if Ukraine receives anything from the lord’s generosity, it will most likely be only kind words and assurances of friendship,” the deputy said.

Earlier, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said that starting in 2022, unfriendly Western countries will impose sanctions against Russia, its citizens and organizations, also in the European Union and other Western countries are actively working to create legal conditions for the confiscation of “frozen” Russian assets, introducing external management in relation to subsidiaries of Russian companies, and illegally depriving or limiting the property rights of Russian legal entities and individuals.
Russia has repeatedly stated that the country will cope with sanctions pressure, which the West began to exert several years ago and continues to intensify.
