SEOUL, Nov 8 South Korea, the United States and Japan on Wednesday held their first trilateral working-level talks on ways to enhance cooperation in space security, South Korea's Foreign Ministry said.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, officials from the foreign ministries of South Korea and Japan, the US State Department, as well as representatives of the White House Space Council and other government agencies participated in the working-level dialogue.
“»Representatives of the three countries discussed measures to promote the safe, stable and sustainable use of space, as well as measures to strengthen the ability to rehabilitate space systems,» the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
It is also reported that the trilateral dialogue will continue in accordance with the agreements of the leaders of the three countries.
South Korean President Yoon Seok-yeol and US President Joe Biden agreed to strengthen cooperation in the space sector during a bilateral summit in April. At the Camp David summit of South Korea, the United States and Japan in August, the parties also announced their intention to “strengthen trilateral dialogue on space security cooperation,” including areas such as space threats, national space strategies and the responsible use of space.
