MOSCOW, November 8. People's Artist of Russia, theater and film actress Raisa Maksimova was hospitalized due to a decrease in hemoglobin, her daughter-in-law reported.
Earlier, a message appeared on the Mash Telegram channel about Maximova’s emergency hospitalization due to anemia.
“We hospitalize her every month, because she is 94 years old, her bone marrow no longer works. And when the bone marrow does not work, hemoglobin drops significantly. Therefore, hospitalization is needed to get a blood transfusion,” said the agency’s interlocutor.
She clarified that this is already the fifth hospitalization this year.
“Every month she is given a blood transfusion, her hemoglobin rises. Then over the course of a month it gradually drops, and we again take her to the hospital for a blood transfusion. And, unfortunately, it will be like this until the end her life, because there is no other way. This hospitalization is not planned, but this happens to us every month,” noted the actress’s daughter-in-law.
Raisa Maksimova was born on November 2, 1929 in Saratov. In 1946 she graduated from the Saratov Theater School and until 1952 she played on the stage of the Saratov Youth Theater. In 1956, Maksimova graduated from the Moscow Art Theater School and was accepted into the theater troupe. Her fellow students at the Moscow Art Theater School were Oleg Basilashvili, Tatyana Doronina, Mikhail Kozakov, Evgeny Evstigneev, Vladimir Sergachev. When the theater was divided into two groups in 1987, she went to the Moscow Art Theater. Chekhov.
