MOSCOW, November 9 Aeroflot Group has completed the process of settling foreign leasing with the Irish company BOC Aviation for nine aircraft, the ownership rights to which were transferred to the Russian insurer NSK, the carrier reported.
“Aeroflot Group has completed the process of settling relations for 8 aircraft with the lessor BOC Aviation (Ireland), as well as 1 aircraft under its management… Ownership of the aircraft transferred to the insurance company Insurance Company NSK LLC» , which paid the settlement amount,» the message says.
Lessors have ceased their claims against Russian parties both under insurance policies issued by Russian insurance companies and under leasing agreements with Pobeda Airlines LLC and Rossiya Airlines JSC, the carrier clarifies.
Aeroflot Group continues negotiations to settle existing claims with other lessors of foreign-made aircraft.
Aeroflot previously announced the completion of the insurance settlement process with foreign lessors for more than 30 aircraft. By the end of the year, the group plans to complete the process of settling insurance relations for 61 aircraft.
In April, the Russian government allocated 300 billion rubles for the purchase of aircraft from foreign leasing and plans to continue to allocate funds to Russian airlines with the condition of co-financing — the carriers will use part of their profits for this.
Western countries have introduced strict anti-Russian sanctions in connection with the special operation in Ukraine. In particular, the EU banned the supply of civil aircraft and spare parts to the Russian Federation, and ordered lessors to break contracts with Russian airlines. Aircraft maintenance and insurance services were also banned, and the European Union, USA, Canada and a number of other countries closed the skies to Russian aircraft.
