The emergency occurred in one of the restaurants in Astana. 43-year-old former Minister of National Economy of Kazakhstan Kuandyk Bishimbayev and his 31-year-old wife Saltanat Nukenova arrived at their restaurant, occupied one of the VIP booths and began drinking alcohol. At some point, a conflict arose between them. And the man, being drunk, began to yell, swear and beat his wife.
The wait staff did not intervene because the restaurant is owned by a former official. According to eyewitnesses, the woman had no living space left on her face, her whole body was in hematomas, and death was caused by a blow with a blunt object. The victim died before the ambulance arrived.
A knife was found at the crime scene, which the suspect waved at the police, threatening to kill himself.
The Astana city health department confirmed information about the woman’s death: “The call to the control panel of the city ambulance station was received at 19.54. Upon arrival, the team confirmed the death of a woman born in 1992.”
