MOSCOW, November 8. Fashion designer Jacques Azagury, one of Princess Diana's favorites, put up copies of five of her dresses at auction, the Times newspaper reports.
«»Each dress I made for Diana was special to me and I took great joy from them for over 20 years, but now that I am retiring I would like that joy to pass on to someone else and so that it can continue to be shared,” the Times newspaper quotes the designer as saying.
Azaguri decided to sell them in connection with his departure from the fashion world, the newspaper clarifies.
One of them is the black dress that Diana wore on her 36th birthday in 1997. And in a sky blue outfit, the princess appeared at one of her last public appearances a couple of months before her death.
Some models come with the original dress and fabric patterns that were attached to Diana during fitting. For two — notes or letters of gratitude from her, the publication writes.
The dresses are expected to fetch between £10,000 and £20,000 each, but if Diana's fans start haggling, the price could be much higher, the Times writes.
The auction will take place on December 7 at Lay's Auctioneers.
