MOSCOW, November 12.Ukrainian troops fired 6 mines of 120 millimeter caliber at Gorlovka, reported theTelegram channel of the DPR representative office in the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of Issues related to war crimes of Ukraine (JCCC).
“Shelling was recorded from the side of the VFU (armed formations of Ukraine – ed.) in the direction: 08.00 – the settlement of Leninskoye – the settlement of Gorlovka (Nikitovsky district): six mines with a caliber of 120 millimeters were fired,” says the representative office.
In addition, the representative office reported that on Saturday at 22.05 – four shells of 155 mm caliber were fired in the Petrovsky district of Donetsk, on Sunday at 06.30 in Donetsk (Petrovsky district) – three shells of 155 mm caliber and at 07.10 in Gorlovka (Nikitovsky district) – five shells with a caliber of 152 millimeters.
Gorlovka is located 50 kilometers north of Donetsk, the city is home to the Stirol chemical concern and coal mining enterprises. This is one of the largest populated areas of the DPR; before the start of the conflict in Donbass, the population of Gorlovka was more than 250 thousand people.
155 mm artillery is used by NATO countries. The United States supplied Ukraine with long-range howitzers M777 of 155 mm caliber, Ukrainian troops are actively using them to shell the cities of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics. Also, the Ukrainian troops were supplied with German PzH 2000 self-propelled artillery mounts, Polish Krab self-propelled guns and French CAESAR self-propelled guns using shells of this caliber.
