MOSCOW, November 10. The Russian army will strike Ukrainian troops with swarms of advanced drones, former US military intelligence officer Scott Ritter said in an interview with the YouTube channel Ask The Inspector.
“»Russia has a weapon that can launch a swarm of drones — dozens of machines, which coordinate actions among themselves, select targets and strike. This is a technology that changes the rules of the game,» the expert noted.
According to him, today the West has no idea how to deal with this type of military equipment. Ukrainian soldiers who encountered Russian drones in battle say that conventional artillery strikes are not so scary in comparison, Ritter said.
He clarified that a swarm of drones would undermine a large amount of military equipment and manpower of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, undermining the military capabilities of Kiev.
Earlier, Rostec CEO Sergei Chemezov said that the company is creating drones capable of striking the enemy as part of a swarm of drones. The weapon is being developed for the needs of the Russian army in the special operation zone, he specified. Chemezov also recalled that the troops are already using Lancet drones developed by Kalashnikov, which have shown excellent results in combat.
Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the production of promising UAVs to be put on stream. The head of state emphasized that Russian companies in the field of unmanned aircraft demonstrate many technical solutions. According to him, this also applies to various types of drones, developments in the field of infrastructure for their safe use in the country's airspace, as well as innovations in related areas, including artificial intelligence and other end-to-end technologies.
