MOSCOW, November 13.Law enforcement officers caught a man accused of murder in 1994, who hid from the investigation and worked as a shepherd in the mountains, said Olga Vradiy, senior assistant to the Moscow region headquarters of the RF IC.
““An investigator from the investigative department for Solnechnogorsk of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Moscow Region has charged a 49-year-old resident of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic with murder committed in 1994,” she said.
According to Vradiy, after the murder of a resident of Solnechnogorsk in September 1994, the person involved was put on the wanted list. After 29 years, the man’s whereabouts were established; it turned out that he had lived in the mountains for many years, working as a shepherd.
“The defendant’s involvement in the murder is confirmed by the results of an inspection of his residence in 1994, where the victim’s belongings were found, as well as the testimony of witnesses who reported that they saw a man leaving the entrance on the day of the murder and that there were drops of blood on his belongings,” — added Vradiy.
As the head of the press service of the Moscow Region Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, Tatyana Petrova, clarified, a conflict occurred between two men while drinking alcohol, as a result of which one inflicted at least nine stab wounds on the other with a knife in the chest and neck area and limbs.
«The wanted man was hiding in various regions of Russia, led a secretive lifestyle and did not officially work anywhere… He was detained in one of the stores in the city of Nalchik,» she added.
