MOSCOW, Nov 13 Press secretary of the head state Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the publication about the beginning of the formation of the initiative group for the nomination of Vladimir Putin and his self-nomination, told reporters that no decisions have been made in this regard yet.
Earlier, the Kommersant newspaper reported that the Kremlin’s internal political bloc allegedly is considering options for the composition of the initiative group to nominate Vladimir Putin for president. It is noted that the formation of an initiative group indicates that Putin will most likely go to the elections as a self-nominated candidate.
«It is clear that now this topic is increasingly attracting the attention of political scientists and specialists, but so far there have been no decisions on this matter «It is clear that the time for the announcement of elections is approaching, but so far there have been no decisions, as soon as they are made, we will inform you,» Peskov said.
The presidential elections in the Russian Federation are scheduled for March 2024. Peskov noted that they have not yet been appointed, but are “approaching” and “will take place in any case.”
