“Father Frost and the Snow Maiden” began to cost up to 90 thousand rubles
State Duma deputies were concerned about the unreasonable increase in ticket prices for New Year's children's events and New Year's gifts for children – citizens are making such complaints in office of the LDPR faction. Its head, Leonid Slutsky, sent a request about this to the head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia, Maxim Shaskolsky.
The parliamentarian asked to conduct a “check of the circumstances for signs of restriction of competition in the form of rising ticket prices in relation to social – cultural New Year's events for children in the actions of business entities involved in their organization, conduct and distribution of tickets, as well as for signs of restriction of competition in the form of rising prices for New Year's gifts for children.”
“Information about a significant change in prices is also confirmed by data from media publications, from which it follows that ticket prices for children's New Year trees during the holidays increased by 15% compared to 2022, for sweet New Year gifts – up to 20%, and the average cost of New Year performances for children is about 2.5 thousand rubles. According to information provided in the press, simple one-hour programs “Father Frost and the Snow Maiden” in the premises increased in price to 20-40 thousand rubles, and on New Year’s Eve – to 70-90 thousand rubles. This is three times more than in 2022.
The situation may indicate “concerted actions”, which may have already led to economically unjustified pricing, says Slutsky in his address to the head of the FAS.
“Of course, artists and producers want to make money on the rush demand,” Leonid Slutsky told MK. – But unjustified price increases and, especially, collusion cannot be allowed. Children will not be able to attend events and will receive worse gifts than they could.
