MOSCOW, November 17 AvtoVAZ plans in December to resume production of Vesta and Niva family vehicles that meet the Euro-5 environmental standard, in addition, for both Niva will return anti-lock braking systems (ABS), company president Maxim Sokolov told reporters.
“During December, AvtoVAZ will restore Euro-5 on all Vestas, and both Niva will be Euro-5 plus will receive ABS,” he said on the sidelines of the Transport of Russia forum.
AvtoVAZ owns production sites in Tolyatti, Izhevsk and St. Petersburg. In mid-May last year, the French Renault transferred its share in AvtoVAZ (67.69%) to the state ownership of the Russian Federation. Now the brand consists of four families of models: Vesta, Largus, Granta and Niva. Sales of the brand's cars in 2022 amounted to 188.6 thousand cars (-46% by 2021).
