As reported by Ren-TV citing informed sources, the death toll as a result of mass methadone poisoning in Astrakhan has increased to four people.
«Four people died as a result of drug poisoning in Astrakhan, another 26 were injured. 17 people are in hospital, of which six in serious condition, 11 on average,» the report says.
Earlier, law enforcement agencies in the region clarified that examinations are currently being carried out aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the emergency. Three citizens of the republics of Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan were detained on suspicion of selling these drugs. A criminal case was initiated under paragraph a, part 3 of art. 228. 1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Illegal sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues).
