NOVOSIBIRSK, November 28 Residents of Moscow bought up tickets in the first rows for December performances of the ballet “The Nutcracker” at the Novosibirsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater (NOVAT ), since they are cheaper than at the Bolshoi Theater along with the flight, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Novosibirsk Region Anna Pavlova said on Tuesday.
“For classical ballet, we know that Moscow has already bought the first few rows. It’s cheaper and faster to fly to the premiere of “The Nutcracker” with us than to buy tickets at the Bolshoi Theater. That is, air transportation, a hotel, plus tickets for the first rows in our NOVAT are cheaper than just going to the Bolshoi Theater for some Christmas performance,” she said.
In October, the Novosibirsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater (NOVAT) presented for the first time a ballet premiere — «The Nutcracker» edited by People's Artist of the USSR Yuri Grigorovich. This choreographic version is considered the standard in the ballet world. The premiere on the stage of the Bolshoi Theater of Russia took place in 1966, since then the ballet has been choreographed in various theaters in Russia and the world.
Previously, the Bolshoi Theater published a special pre-sale program for tickets for performances of the ballet “The Nutcracker” on its official website due to increased demand for the performance. According to the schedule, ticket sales for the performances on December 29-31 started on November 11 at the box office, and from November 12 it was offered to buy tickets on the website. More than once, large queues formed at the theater of those wishing to first receive a bracelet with a number to purchase a ticket, and later to purchase a ticket.
