ASTANA, December 1 Former President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev considers Russia a powerful power, and the presidency of Vladimir Putin, in his opinion, will go down in Russian history as a special period.
Nazarbayev became the first president of independent Kazakhstan and headed it for almost 30 years — he resigned as head of state on March 20, 2019. On December 1, Nazarbayev’s memoirs went on sale in the country. The book, entitled “My Life. From Addiction to Freedom,” consists of 694 pages, which are organized into 22 chapters. Each of them is dedicated to a separate event from the author’s personal life or his political career.
“The two neighboring countries are in a common geopolitical focus, and will always be so. The problems are also common. The views on many processes taking place in the world are also similar. It should also be noted that Russia is not only the largest country, but most importantly, Russia is the largest country powerful in its potential. These words should not be understood to mean that Russia is the strongest from an economic point of view. I mean the inexhaustibility of its total potential. In terms of natural resources, energy power, and agricultural capabilities, our great neighbor is indeed a very powerful power. According to him, Vladimir Putin has returned Russia to the position of a world power. “No one doubts that Putin’s presidency will go down in the history of Russia as a special period.
