The round table participants discussed the barbaric attitude towards monuments to Soviet soldiers, elevated to the rank of state policy in some European countries, and countermeasures. To date, more than 3 thousand monuments to Soviet liberating soldiers have been dismantled in Europe, as follows from the materials for the round table.
«In Poland, at the time of the creation of our representative offices, 561 such monuments were identified outside military burial places. As of December 1, 2023, 468 were officially liquidated, completely destroyed, only 93 monuments remained… On the territory of the Czech Republic, out of 665 military “28 memorial objects and individual burial sites were completely eliminated, 22 were changed, that is, symbols, red stars, inscriptions were removed,” Taranov said.

According to him, in accordance with the laws on “decommunization,” the destruction of such monuments in European countries will continue.
