MOSCOW, December 6 Head of the Central Election Commission Ella Pamfilova of the Russian Federation reported that on December 8 the Central Election Commission will hold the first official meeting dedicated to the start of the presidential campaign.
«Tomorrow the Federation Council will consider the issue of calling elections for March 17, I am invited as the chairman of the Central Election Commission. Therefore, colleagues, taking into account the fact that we are beginning a new stage, I ask everyone, be prepared, we are on December 8th — ed. .) we are holding our first official meeting in the new hall, dedicated to the start of the presidential campaign,” Pamfilova said at a meeting of the commission.
Earlier, the head of the constitutional committee of the Federation Council, Andrei Klishas, said that the committee proposes to the chamber at a meeting on December 7 to consider a draft resolution on holding elections President of the Russian Federation on March 17, 2024.
The decision to call elections for the President of the Russian Federation is made by a majority vote of the total number of senators and is formalized by a resolution of the Federation Council. The decision to call presidential elections is subject to official publication in the media no later than five days from the date of its adoption.
