MOSCOW, December 6 Former world number one Dane Caroline Wozniacki received a wild card for the Australian Open, according to the official website of the tournament.
Wozniacki is 33 years old, she is the winner of the Australian Open 2018, the Dane is currently ranked 242nd in the Women's Tennis Association (WTA).
Australian representatives Kimberly Birrell, Olivia Gadeki, Tayla Preston, James Duckworth, Mark Polmans and Adam Walton also received invitations to the tournament.
Wozniacki announced her retirement from the Australian Open in 2020. After this, she gave birth to two children — daughter Olivia (June 2021) and son James (October 2022). In June, the Dane announced the resumption of her career.
Wozniacki was world No. 1 for a total of 71 weeks, becoming the first woman from a Scandinavian country to be ranked No. 1 in the world's top tennis player rankings. She has 30 titles in tournaments under the auspices of the WTA.
