KRASNOYARSK, December 7 Two tourists from groups that are now being evacuated in the mountains of Khakassia died, the regional headquarters of the RF IC reported.
«Two tourists died. They are from different groups. The causes of death are still unknown,» the agency's interlocutor said.
Earlier, the regional headquarters of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that several groups of snowmobilers were unable to independently get out of the mountain taiga area near the village of Priiskovoe in Khakassia due to bad weather, tourists are being evacuated.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations noted that the rescue operation was organized by volunteers from among local residents and vacationers, rescuers from the South Siberian search and rescue team and an operational group from the regional headquarters of the Ministry of Emergency Situations also moved to the site. The department noted that due to the snowstorm and wind, it was impossible to organize immediate assistance for the tourists, so they had to spend the night. The air temperature at that time was minus 13 degrees. The Mi-8 helicopter is in readiness, but the weather did not allow the use of the aircraft.
The regional head office of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that on Wednesday and Thursday, weather forecasters issued a forecast about dangerous weather phenomena — heavy snow, blizzards, and lower temperatures.
