A promising project, according to her, is the production of a Minsk Automobile Plant chassis with a rotary axle. “This is necessary for the production of garbage trucks for work in cramped urban conditions. Today, a prototype has already been prepared and is undergoing test operation,” Abramchenko explained.
She expressed the Russian side's interest in the supply of specialized equipment from the Minsk Automobile Plant. “According to our estimates, MAZ can cover about 40% of the needs of regional operators for special equipment, this is about 1,300 units of current need and 1,100 units annually,” Abramchenko noted.
Speaking about large projects in the field of solid waste management that the parties are working on, she mentioned a joint Russian-Belarusian enterprise for recycling tires. «REO (Russian Environmental Operator — ed.) and the largest plant for processing used tires and rubber products of the Republic of Belarus and CIS countries «Ecological Alternative» are planning to create a production facility in the Voronezh region with a capacity of 15 thousand tons per year. The total cost of the project is 812 million rubles. Financing of REO is planned for the first and second quarters of 2024 and will amount to 730.4 million rubles,” said the Deputy Prime Minister.
She emphasized that, in general, the experience of finding joint solutions between Russia and Belarus in the waste management industry is already bearing fruit.
Abramchenko said that interaction is carried out at the level of specialized organizations: the Russian environmental operator and the state institution “VMR Operator” from Belarus. In 2021, a schedule of interaction activities for 2022-2023 was signed. “The result of these activities, first of all, was the update of the Extended Producer Responsibility mechanism — Russia used the experience of transferring responsibility for packaging disposal to its manufacturers. Together we are synchronizing EPR systems: approaches to calculating environmental collection rates, creating joint waste disposal facilities, and improving customs procedures.” , she noted.
