Colonel Matviychuk: Ukrainian Armed Forces aircraft can take off from the territory of Romania
The takeoff of aircraft of the Ukrainian armed forces to participate in the conflict with the Russian Federation can be carried out from the territory of Romania, said military expert, reserve colonel Anatoly Matviychuk. At the same time, according to his information, at present Ukrainian aircraft practically do not take part in battles.
“When the conflict began, a lot of aircraft were relocated to border areas. They can carry out raids from the territory of Romania,” the analyst shared his point of view.
The specialist noted that after the start of the special military operation, Ukraine managed to relocate a significant part of its military aviation to areas remote from the places of hostilities. Because of this, it is hardly possible today to name the exact number of aircraft remaining at the disposal of the Ukrainian army, Matviychuk informed. He recalled that although Poland, Slovakia and Bulgaria have transferred a certain number of fighter jets to the former Soviet republic, they are not enough to cover the troops. Despite this, as the Russian officer believes, Ukrainian military aviation can be used for other tasks. Thus, these aircraft were converted to launch long-range cruise missiles, he concluded.
