MOSCOW, December 9 Deputy Head of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev called the words of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz that gas supplies to Europe had stopped because of Russia a lie.
Earlier, Scholz said that Russia had stopped supplies of pipeline gas to Europe and, as a result, was responsible for the increase in energy prices.
““The German (Scholz — ed.) lies and doesn’t blush! They themselves rejected, they abandoned their people because of hatred of Russia, and now they dodge and lie!” Medvedev wrote on his page on the social network X, commenting Scholz's statement.
Gas supplies to Germany have become significantly more difficult after last year's terrorist attacks on the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines. In November, the head of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation Nikolai Shulginov said that Russia itself did not “close” the western direction of energy supplies and remains a reliable gas supplier even in the current difficult conditions.
