MOSCOW, December 10. Serbia intends to become a member of the EU, but does not intend to spoil relations with Russia, said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Serbia Milos Vucevic in an interview with Politika.
“Serbia must become a full member of the European Union, <…> This is our strategic commitment,” he said.
However, Vucevic added, Serbia will not forget about its national DNA and will not impose sanctions against Russia and break partnerships with the country.
Serbia will cooperate with China, as well as with the Arab world, India, Africa and the Americas, will remain militarily neutral and will not join any military alliance, including NATO, the Deputy Prime Minister concluded.
At the end of November, the press secretary Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that the Kremlin understands the environment Serbia is in and the pressure it faces, while Moscow has its own special relationship with Belgrade that will develop.
