On Friday, Putin announced his participation in the Russian presidential elections, which will take place in March 2024. Putin was elected to the post of President of Russia four times — in 2000, 2004, 2012 and 2018. After the adoption of amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation, he received the right to stand as a candidate in new presidential elections in 2024.
“This will be a good race,” Kirby said with a laugh, responding to journalists’ requests to comment on Putin’s statements about his intention to participate in the elections. «That's all I'll say about it,» Kirby added.
