Russia almost does not import eggs from foreign countries

MOSCOW, December 12 Non-CIS countries almost do not export food eggs to Russia — in the nine months of this year, only 2.4 tons of them were supplied for 11 thousand dollars, follows from an analysis of data from the UN Comtrade platform.
Norway supplied the most products — $10.7 thousand, Morocco ($600) and Brazil ($100). Turkey, for which Rosselkhoznadzor extended permission to supply table eggs to Russia in early December, does not export them to the country at all.

At the same time, Armenia turned out to be the largest exporter of table eggs to Russia — it supplied 20 tons for 21.2 thousand dollars.

At the same time, the volume of imports of eggs for incubation this year amounted to 14.5 thousand tons worth 104 million dollars. The absolute record holder for supplies is Turkey, which exported 5 thousand tons of this product worth $21 million to Russia. Next comes Germany, which sold 2.8 thousand tons of such eggs to Russian companies for $23 million.
Britain ($15 million), Canada ($10 million) and Hungary ($9 million) also made large shipments this year. Italy supplied $2 million worth of hatchery eggs, and Sweden $1.3 million.
Earlier in December, Deputy General Director of the Russian Poultry Union (Rosptitsesoyuz) Elena Stepanova said that Belarus and Mongolia supply eggs to Russia.
