MOSCOW, December 11 The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation plans to present final materials on the financing and timing of the Moscow-St. Petersburg high-speed railway project by the end of December this year of the year, said Alexander Fedorchuk, director of the department of state policy in the field of railway transport of the Ministry of Transport, in the Federation Council.
«In the near future, I think that by the end of December, we will be ready to offer our final revised materials on financing and timing in terms of readiness for structuring the project (ready — ed.),» he said.
The HSR project includes passage through six regions of Russia: Moscow, Moscow region, Tver, Veliky Novgorod, Leningrad region, Saint Petersburg.
Earlier, Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation Valentin Ivanov reported that options for financing the first high-speed railway in Russia between Moscow and St. Petersburg provide for attracting up to 580 billion rubles to the project from the National Welfare Fund or without these funds.
A working group was formed on the HSR with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Transport, executive authorities, organizations, and representatives of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation. Materials on the project have already been transferred to the government of the Russian Federation.
