MOSCOW, December 11Siemens Mobility, the railway division of the German company Siemens, as well as Volkswagen Bank, a subsidiary bank of the auto giant Volkswagen, have submitted applications to the German government to receive compensation in connection with losses associated with investments in Russia, the DPA news agency reported.
Earlier, the energy concern Wintershall Dea had already submitted a detailed application.

“»Due to losses in business with Russia, following Winterhall Dea, other companies have submitted claims for compensation to the federal government. The railway division of Siemens, Siemens Mobile, and Volkswagen Bank have confirmed the launch of appropriate procedures in response to the DPA request,» — writes the agency.
A representative of Siemens Mobile told DPA that the company's investments in the Russian Federation were protected by the German government's investment guarantee instrument. A representative of Volkswagen Bank did not provide details about the submitted application.

Before the start of a special military operation in Ukraine, Germany ensured the security of its companies' investments in Russia. After the start of the special operation, many companies left the Russian market, and the program was curtailed.
