The future van of the German brand, related to the Ford Transit, will have turbodiesel, hybrid and all-electric modifications.
< p>The Volkswagen T1 minibus, without exaggeration, “conquered the world” in the 1950s. Over the past time, the model has managed to change generations more than once, and now the German company continues to prepare for the presentation of the new generation Transporter. It is known that the presentation of the commercial model will take place in the spring of 2024, while in Germany dealers will begin accepting orders before the end of this year.
Today, the brand published a new video and photo showing a camouflaged pre-production prototype of the VW T7 Transporter. The future new product is partially visible, you can see the “smile” of the radiator grille with a pattern of horizontal lines, above it there is a large brand logo, on either side of it there are LED head optics. A visually divided air intake is built into the lower part. The stern received narrow vertical rear lights, with a branding logo located in the center between them.
The company emphasized that the range of options for the new Volkswagen Transporter will be “huge”: it will include vans in two lengths and heights, a flatbed truck with a double-row cab, as well as Kombi and Caravelle options designed to carry a large number of passengers. The corresponding versions are presented schematically, including in the video teaser.
According to Lars Krause, Member of the Board of Management responsible for Sales and Marketing at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, the new Transporter, like the Multivan with the all-electric ID.Buzz commercial vehicle, will join the list of “state-of-the-art tools for professionals.”
< p>The company also noted that the new van will be “suitable for everyone.” We are talking, among other things, about various “filling” options: the model will be offered with turbodiesel engines (TDI), with a plug-in hybrid installation (eHybrid), as well as with completely “green” technology (such versions will have their own names — e-Transporter and e -Caravelle).

Details about the technology of the new Volkswagen Transporter will appear later. It is known that the German commercial vehicle will be closely related to the Ford Transit/Tourney Custom (as part of an alliance between the two companies). The Ford lineup includes 2.0-liter EcoBlue diesel engines with outputs of 105, 130, 150 and 165 hp. The rechargeable hybrid system is based on a 2.5-liter gasoline engine paired with an electric motor. The “green” version is equipped with a single electric motor, its power is 184 or 269 hp, and the range on one charge is 380 km (when calculated using the WLTP cycle).
At the end of last year week, our designer presented his version of the potential appearance of the next generation Volkswagen Transporter. We will find out whether the assumptions coincided with reality in the coming spring.
