MOSCOW, December 12The Tagansky Court of Moscow, at the request of the investigation, extended the arrest of blogger and business coach Ayaz Shabutdinov, accused of fraud, for two months, the correspondent reports.
“Extend the preventive measure for Ayaz Rifatovich Shabutdinov until February 16,” Judge Albina Timakova announced the decision.< br />
The defense asked to release Shabutdinov from the pre-trial detention center for bail in the amount of 50 million rubles. At the previous two meetings, the proposals were more modest: 4 million and 15 million, with the first figure, as lawyer Nikita Apalikov argued, “equal to the amount of damage in the case,” in which there were initially 8 victims.
In the Shabutdinov case, 15 people have been recognized as victims, and more than 25 more applications are being verified, an investigator said in court today. The business coach and founder of Like Center was charged under Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud committed by an organized group on an especially large scale). According to investigators, Shabutdinov created a false impression among citizens about the possibility of building a highly profitable business thanks to his educational programs. He did not admit guilt.
Another person involved is the general director of the company that sells training courses, Vasily Alekseev, he is wanted.
