MOSCOW, December 13 On December 14, the Second Western District Military Court will announce the verdict of those accused of preparing a terrorist attack in the public reception room of the FSB on Lubyanka, said lawyer Alexander Manov, representing the defendant Abdukodir Toirov.
““Tomorrow at 12.00 the verdict is scheduled to be announced,” the agency’s interlocutor said.
Prosecutor Svetlana Tarasova in the debate between the parties asked that the defendants be sentenced from 16 to 25 years in prison and fines from 500 to 900 thousand rubles.
There are six in the dock: Gadzhimurad Hasanaliev, Manuchehr Buriev, Rajabali Buriev, Abdumalik Samiev, Samandar Toshmurodov and Abdukodir Toirov.
According to investigators, the defendants were preparing a terrorist attack in the FSB public reception area on Lubyanka on May 1, 2022. All of them are members of the “Islamic State”*, and this task, as Tarasova reported, was received from a certain Abu Jihad.
As follows from the case materials, the defendants planned to detonate an improvised explosive device in the FSB public reception building on Lubyanka and open fire on passers-by; their goal was to force Russia to stop the fight against IS* in Syria.
At the end of October, the same court sentenced another defendant, Merob Khaitov, to 12 years in a maximum security colony. His case was separated into separate proceedings and considered in a special regime, since he admitted guilt and actively contributed to the investigation.
