Japan purchased $4 billion worth of energy from Russia

MOSCOW, December 14 Japan purchased $4 billion worth of hydrocarbons from Russia over the ten months of this year, with almost 80% coming from gas, data analysis shows Japanese Statistical Service.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said earlier on Thursday that Japan is not refusing and will take Russian energy resources.
According to the department, Japan imported $4.05 billion worth of hydrocarbons from Russia. At the same time, a year ago the country spent almost $9 billion on energy purchases.

The main import is gas: in January-October it was purchased for $3.2 billion compared to $4.3 billion a year earlier. Next comes coal, imports of which have decreased fourfold — to $780 million.

Finally, Japan has reduced oil purchases from Russia to $53 million, while a year ago the country purchased “black gold” worth $1.4 billion.
